Danielle has been involved with music almost her entire life and has learned and performed approximately 400 songs at over 100 rock shows. She was part of the original Rockers student group at RiverCity Rock Star Academy and currently performs in the Rebels program. In addition to being a student at RiverCity, Danielle has assisted at the Rock Star Camp every summer and numerous RiverCity special events. Danielle was also a student for over seven years with the Portland School of Rock.

Although she began her musical experience playing keys, guitar and singing, she has since expanded to include bass, drums and ukulele as well. Danielle loves all types of music, but some of her key influences include The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, and the Eagles, as well as female music icons Diana Ross, Carole King, Aretha Franklin, and Deborah Harry. Her current favorite band is Mom Jeans.

Beyond music, Danielle has been involved with theater and has performed in numerous local productions. She is a 2018 graduate of West Salem High School, where she was active with the Choir of the Titans, student government, National Honor Society, Math Inspiring New Dreams (M.I.N.D.) service club, and a guest music columnist for the Titan Spectator student newspaper.

Music Education FAQs

What makes your group classes different than a conventional music lesson program?

When you enroll in a Group Class with us, you will have a weekly 1-on-1 lesson on your instrument of choice- in addition, the weekly group rehearsal involves music exercises, learning group songs, correct band equipment set-up/break-down, and so much more! Our classes culminate in an opportunity to perform with your group for your family and friends. This means students enjoy the best of all learning scenarios- private learning, along with learning is a group.

What does my skill level need to be to join Rivercity Rockstar Academy?

Zero experience is needed! We have different programs suitable for first time beginners to advanced musicians. We get everyone playing a real song right away.

Do I need to know how to read sheet music?

No, it's not required, but always helpful. We will teach you what you will need to know based on your skill level and experience.

Can I play multiple instruments at the school?

You'll have the opportunity to play multiple instruments and/or sing if you're interested. We encourage all of our students to play multiple instruments and sing. Our coveted Five Star Award goes to a student who plays 5 or more different instruments or sings in one show!

Do I need to have my own instrument(s)?

No! We have instruments at the studio for you to use. If you have your own instrument, you are welcome to bring it.

Am I too young/old for the program?

We have music education programs for kids, teens, and adults! Private lessons are open to all ages. Check out our Classes page for group learning options by age range.

How does billing work?

Our billing is based on a 12-week season rehearsal schedule; you will be invoiced on the first of the month when the program begins minus any required deposit.

Enrollees can now choose which pricing and payment option works best for them. Choose from one payment in full (for an additional 5% savings) or four monthly payments over the course of the season.

All discounts apply including 5% off each for sibling/family members enrolling during the same season and qualified referrals.

We bill electronically and you can pay with a credit card, Paypal, check and/or cash.

Do you offer scholarships?

RiverCity participates in the Salem Music Initiative program that provides scholarships and tuition assistance to qualified students for lessons, music classes, camps, and workshops. To find out more, please schedule a visit or contact us.

Talented, patient, & professional

Danielle is a very good teacher for a number of reasons. But the most important one for me is that she can teach at the level of the student very well. Using good communication she keeps the lessons well tuned to a students skillset, and is very patient while doing so. 10 out of 10, would recommend.
